Elsie Guerrero is the Program and Executive Assistant at Democracy Initiative. Prior to this position, she was a fellow for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). She participated and volunteered with the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign. Elsie also worked on local and state campaigns in California, such as school board elections and judge election. She was the Graduate Senator at the University of San Francisco, where she earned the nationwide leadership award.
Elsie is a dedicated and passionate public advocate who has worked to support the needs of children with disabilities, Latinos, and underserved communities. In her free time, Elsie writes children’s books on social issues facnig children with disabilities and the Latino community, to bring awareness of the topic and promote inclusion. She has published ten books and plans to publish more in the near future.
Elsie is a member of California Women Lead, Latinas Lead California, and Pi Alpha Alpha Honor Society. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Government (Political Science) with minors in Philosophy and Sociology from Sacramento State University. She also obtained a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Judicial Affairs from Golden State University and a Master of Public Affairs and Practical Politics from the University of San Francisco.
